A To-Do List for the Break

It is Saturday morning, and of course I'm up early (Sadly, I have trouble sleeping in and it's rare for me to sleep past 7). Weekend mornings are actually kind of peaceful at our home. Nick and the animals are asleep, the streets are pretty quiet, and I can do whatever I want for a couple of hours, before everyone wakes up.   Today I'm listening to Christmas music (shhh don't tell my husband!) and writing out a to-do list for my week off.

I LOVE making lists. As somewhat of a type-A person, I enjoy organization. I like the satisfaction of crossing things off a list and seeing what can be accomplished in a short amount of time.

On that note, here is my to-do list for the break:

  1. Finish hall cabinet-turned-console table
  2. Finish our headboard
  3. Try this DIY project
  4. Make mashed potatoes for 20 people (It's first time making a Thanksgiving dish, I'm growing up!)
  5. Clean and put away all Fall decor
  6. Decorate for Christmas
  7. Find a cute (simple!) song for my students to preform in our winter assembly.
  8. Paint the step stool my father-in-law made for me.
Most of these projects will be fun and I'm excited to have 9 days to do what I want! I'll also have plenty of time to hang out with my family, especially my sister, whom I haven't seen in 5 months;

catch up on the Today Show, and my love, Matt Lauer;

and spend time with Nick and our babies (since he also gets a few days off this week!).

I think its going to be a great Thanksgiving Break! I'll let you know how it goes with my to-dos!
