This little boy has most definitely stolen my heart, just like his daddy did almost 10 years ago! I am so incredibly blessed to be the mama to this sweet, happy, cuddly little mister.

so fresh fresh
Check out our pantry door:
Extra-classy bifold door with a missing knob- and as you can see in the top picture, it's the very first thing you see when you walk in the front door. Not really a welcoming sight! Eventually we have plans to replace the door completely, but in the meantime, we decided to give this sad little door a cheap makeover.
In an effort to embrace color and have a little more fun with our new house, I chose to paint the door emerald green.
Nick and I picked out two new knobs from Anthropologie to spruce up our new green door.
We added the second knob to the other side of the bifold door to give the illusion of two doors.
I also painted the trim around the door bright white to define the space a bit more. Now when you walk in the front door, you're greeted by this:
rather than this:
We have other plans to jazz up the entryway some more over the next month or two- stay tuned!

My other guy
Lest you think I've only got eyes for my chunky-cheeked little Valentine, I want to take a moment and expound on my "big" Valentine. The guy who took me for a quick pre-work donut + coffee date yesterday; the guy who has brought me 2 giant bouquets of my second most favorite flower (hydrangeas- you can't find peonies anywhere this time of year!) in the last two weeks; the guy who spent 2 hours last night making me the tastiest dinner; the guy who got up off the couch one night and drove to Target to buy me an electric blanket because I was chilly; the guy who brought me top ramen and organic fake-sprite when I was extra sick with the flu last month; the guy who didn't get angry with me that one time two weeks ago when we ran out of gas; (subsequently, the guy who now religiously takes my car to the gas station for me;) the guy who cleans our whole house and keeps up with all the laundry every weekend, so I can have extra time with H. Yeah, that guy is pretty awesome and I'm one lucky lady.

my funny little valentine
It's amazing to think how far we've come after last year's little Valentine's announcement... Don't worry; this Valentine's Day post doesn't come with any big announcements- only 10 million pictures of my baby being adorable with paper hearts. (How could I choose just 1 to share?!)
We hope you have an extra-fabulous Valentine's Day! xoxo- The Reisfelts

little valentines
This year, I scoured Pinterest for some baby-friendly valentines that my little Hayden could "give" to his friends. I found a few great options, such as homemade heart shaped crayons, sand shovels, and bubbles. Since Hayden is only 6 months and his friends aren't much older, we decided that bubbles would be the best option. Hayden loves to watch them float in the air and has fun trying to grab them. I had fun designing the cards myself, with some nontraditional valentine's colors:
If you want to print your own copy of the Valentine's Card, you can click here for a PDF version.
After I printed the cards on heavy card stock, I cut two slits right in the middle, to hold the little tube of bubbles (found in the Target Valentine's section!).
I made a little banner to attach to the top of the bubbles:
We'reI'm excited to give out Valentine's to all of Hayden's little friends at Preschool, Daycare, and in our playgroup tomorrow!

a little heartsy...
Valentine's Day is just a week away! Thank goodness these winter months seem to be flying by- I'm ready for Spring and especially summer when I can be off all day with my little man. Annnnyway... I do love Valentine's Day for a few reasons. I love the bright little pick-me-up in the middle of dreary winter. I love the colors (pink, pink, pink!). I love the candy. I love that it celebrates love. Cheesy, I know, but what a good excuse to remember all those special people you love. After taking down all my Christmas decor, I was appreciating the uncluttered look of my house, so I went super minimal with my Valentine's decor this year. Just a few hearts here and there...

6 months
We can't believe our little guy is already half a year old. Where has the time gone?! Mister Smiley has change so much in the last month, and as his Daddy likes to say, "he's becoming a little kid!" Our little man is now sitting up for a few seconds with no support and realizes that he needs to grab onto something when he starts to topple. He passes things from one hand to the other and back again. This month he became really interested in food and silverware. We bought him his own set of spoons which he enjoys playing with while we eat meals. This little guy loves to move! He always kicking his legs, rolling back and forth, putting his feet in his mouth, and grabbing for anything within his reach. He is babbling a lot more these days and his most repeated word is dadadadadada- Nick is so pleased! This month he suddenly realized we had a dog living with us and screams excitedly when he sees her and gets to pet her. (For her part, Lucy is quite gentle and patiently lets Hayden grab her fur/eyeballs/ tail.) This little guy is weighing in at 15 lbs, 14 oz which puts him in the 21st percentile. He's going to be tall, just like his parents (ha!), at 27.75 inches and in the 64th percentile for length. Hayden is currently wearing 3-6 month clothing and some 6 month clothing. He doesn't have any teeth yet, but we can tell he's working on getting those chomps- slowly, but surely. We have loved the past 6 months with our sweet little mister and are looking forward to what the next 6 bring!

5 months
Seeing as it was my baby's 6 month birthday yesterday, I thought it was about time to share his 5 month photo. Better late than never (?)... Anyway, 5 months was another fun month with our little man. He celebrated his first Christmas and New Years. Hayden sat up for the first time, balancing on his hands for the first time on Christmas Day. Little Mister demonstrated his full range of rolls this month (and I'm not talking about those ankle rolls- though aren't they something?!). He mastered rolling from back to front and front to back again. Hayden also started giving hugs. He is so cuddly and wraps his arms around our necks when we hold him. We are loving seeing what a sweet boy our baby is turning out to be!
Since I'm so behind on blogging this month's big milestones, I'll be posting his 6 month photo tomorrow to get back on track!
