A Little Place We Like to Call Home...

If you've been following our blog, you have seen bits and pieces of our apartment building in various posts. Today, we want to give you an insider's view into our very awesome building.  Our building was constructed in 1928, in the Spanish Revival style. It contains 27 units, mostly 1-bedroom apartments. The majority of the original architecture and finishing have been maintained over the years.

The lobby has a beautiful hand carved plaster ceiling, imported from Spain.

Sometimes, I like to pretend I live in a palace (like the princess that I am); but then I remember that I have no dishwasher, servants, or fancy throne... ah well, I still kind of like where we live. : )

Our building also has a rooftop garden, with amazing views of the Oakland Hills.

We know apartment living isn't for everyone, but at this point in our lives, it's totally perfect for us. We're so lucky that we can call this place our first home!
