Weekend Finds

This weekend was definitely a bit of a shopping weekend for us (or maybe just me...) I found odds and ends all over the place and have great plans for all of the things we picked up.
First up, Marshall's. We have been searching for the perfect lamp to finish off our newly-stained desk, and I have sometimes have luck at this discount store. Alas, no lamp for us...Although, I did find this oversized glass hurricane for only $10. This guy fit the bill for a little project that I'll show you later this week.

Next up, I headed to IKEA ( I know-on a Saturday afternoon!). Luckily, I managed to circumvent most of the crowd by sticking to the Marketplace Floor and only looking at accessories. It is at IKEA where I found the perfect desk lamp. It looks great with the rest of the rustic-industrial-shabby-chic theme we have going on in the office (too many themes?!). The best part? This little light was the easiest IKEA assembly I've ever managed; it literally took 2 minutes to put together, and those thoughtful IKEA misters included a lightbulb as well.

Also at IKEA, I found these two picture frames for $5 each and two concrete-esque planters for $1.99 each. Score and score.

Yesterday morning, Nick and I made a quick trip to the Alameda Flea Market for the sole purpose of visiting the Belgian Sugar Waffle Truck. Just kidding. Along with a waffle, we picked up a large antique jug and this marvelous painting. We have major DIY plans for both, so stay tuned.

That's our weekend purchases round-up! Hopefully soon I'll be able to share some pics of our finished desk (once my husband wrangles an embarrassing cord situation and things look neat and tidy!)
