festive fourth

I was feeling festive this year and decided to do a little decorating for the Fourth of July. We won't be going anywhere this year, since we want to stick close to home (just in case...) so I thought I'd give our home a little patriotic makeover.  

 I bought a couple new throw pillows at Home Goods along with a four pack of striped red napkins. I used the napkins to imitate a table runner on our coffee and kitchen tables. The lanterns on the table are old Ikea purchases and the pretty flower arrangement is courtesy of our baby shower last weekend (still going strong!).

On our kitchen table, I added a huge wooden tray and my fake table runner.

On the tray, I put a second flower arrangement, a white vase with a few flags, and another lantern. (We have lanterns aplenty around here!)

Now that these two little areas of our house are ready for the Fourth, bring on the fireworks!
