100 seems like a lot, but actually it was pretty easy to slim down my closet. I have clothes I've been hanging onto since high school and college and items that were gifts that never fit or weren't quite my style. In an effort to simplify my life and be more appreciative of how blessed I really am, I took one weekend to go through each and every clothing item and decide if I really "needed" it or not. Even if I still wore something occasionally, I decided to donate items that could be more fully appreciated elsewhere.
I ended up with 131 things to donate!! Already, I'm happier with the sparser closet and knowing that pretty much everything hanging in there now is something I truly like and wear on a regular basis. Coincidently, our church was having a St. Vincent de Paul collection this past weekend, so Nick and I piled up my bags (plus his 1 bag from his clean closet surprise) and finally got them out of our home.
Now I just have to wait for Lent to be over so I can build my closet back up- kidding!!
