this is my family (apparently)

For our English Language Unit, we are working on families and identifying members in our family. Yesterday's assignment was for students to draw a picture of their own family (aka, who lives at home with you) and label each person. Like any good teacher, I modeled the assignment, drawing a picture of Nick and me. Each student had the chance to come up and share their drawings with the class. One of my sweet first graders came up to share his drawing that included 8 stick people that all resembled each other. As he rattled of names of family members, he pointed to each person. When he got to the last two stick figures in the drawing, he said, "Oh yeah, and this is Mrs. Reisfelt and this is her husband." Apparently, he considers us family...
